They have been fast gaining momentum in the Irish music scene, and with slots in the upcoming Vantastival and Life Festival you have a two great opportunities to let them captivate you with one of their energetic performances, not to mention the countless more gigs yet to be confirmed. With Rob Walsh on vocal, guitar and harmonica, Colm Hassett on drums and percussion, Joey Mcgowan on bass guitar and Eoin ‘Mossy’ Morrissey on lead guitar, Cold Comfort are a band set to take you on a journey. Their catchy songs tell tales of misspent adventure, lost friends and honest poetic observations on the way we live. They have been together for just a couple of year’s and have gathered a dedicated cult following in that time. Their music has been described as “a cocktail of blues, rock & roll and country” but they go beyond these genres to create a funky, foot-stomping, eclectic sound. Last year, they gigged regularly with support slots for ‘Whipping Boy’ on their ‘Periscopes Up’ tour and ‘Alabama 3′ on their recent UK tour (with Walsh co-writing songs for their recent ‘Shoplifting for jesus’ Album) They are currently in the studio working on their Debut album “Tainted Winds” which is set for release this summer. You can check out the video for their single ‘Sweet Light’ below. To receive updates on gigs, new music and videos, simply like their Facebook page here and be sure to check out their EP as we all wait impatiently for the new album this summer.
